Red split lentils, kibbled onion, cumin seed, curry powder, brown mustard seed, and garlic granules. Fry in oil for a few mins. Add more spices or fresh garlic if you require. Cover with cold-water -1 part dhal to 3 water. Add salt, bring to the boil & gently simmer for 20-25mins.
